Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are extremely happy to invite you for ESCTAIC’s 19th anniversary between the 1st and 4th of October 2008 to the place where we held our first scientific meetings nearly two decades ago – to historic Goldegg Castle in the beautiful Austrian Alps!
Yes indeed, it is nearly 20 years ago that a small group of technology and computing enthusiasts decided to establish the European Society for Computing and Technology in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care as a forum between clinical anaesthesiology and technical disciplines, electronics, engineering and ergonomics. This initiative proved to be very productive. Since then we have performed our annual meetings all over Europe – from Austria via Greece, Germany and Italy to Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland as well France, Denmark and the UK. And the community of technologically interested anaesthesiologists and intensivists as well as medical oriented technicians and engineers is steadily growing.

Therefore we would be extremely happy to welcome as many ESCTAIC founders as well as long time companions and newly interested participants at our society’s 19th anniversary.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you (again :-) in Goldegg Castle, Austria!
